3 day workshop with Anna Porubcansky
Voice is a natural extension of the body. It moves on the breath and resonates against the bones, making each voice entirely unique in its tone, texture and depth. Voice has shape, and it has movement.
This 3-day workshop is a chance to explore your own natural voice in direct relationship with your body.
Using imagery, relaxation, improvisation, song, and movement, we’ll work with vocal anatomy and common areas of tension, open and explore places of resonance in the body, and find new pathways between voice and its movement through the body.
Singing together, we’ll begin to open our bodies to the innate sounds within each of us, discovering new connections between our voices and bodies, and with each other.
Anna is a musician and performer whose training includes classical, traditional and choral singing, natural voice and vocal anatomy (Kristin Linklater, Roy Hart Theatre, Alexander Technique). She is co-artistic director of Company of Wolves, and works as a music director, live sound designer, and voice coach.
