A Brief Respite

A couple of days at home now to rest after a flying visit to Inverness.

We had an incredible welcome from the students and staff at University of the Highlands and Islands. Thank you Cat, Iona and Gabbi of Polkadot promotions for arranging it, and to all the many helpers who assisted with the get-out after the show. I’ve never done a performance before where the audience came back into the space after the show and asked ‘Can we help? What can we do?’.

It makes such a difference to our work to be received with such warmth. Often our best shows are when we have a personal connection to the audience, to the venue. This human contact is essential and so easy to lose sight of in the frantic hurly burly of touring: driving, get-ins, new accommodation, new places. But it’s also what makes live performance different and essential.

This show has made us even more determined to continue our work of reaching out to venues and audiences across the length and breadth of Scotland.

Next up Universal Hall, Findhorn and Woodend Barn, Banchory. Can’t wait!
